She is still off the charts....

Tessa had her four month appointment yesterday, she was four months on the 22nd, so I am here to report the stats:

Weight 19lbs. 3oz. (still off the chart)

Length 25 3/4 in. (95%)

Head 43 cm (95%)

I cannot believe how huge she is for only four months, I am a little nervous about what size clothes I will have to be buying when she is 12 months old when that is the size she is wearing now.

I love the chub in her face and her big lips, they are a lot like Porter's lips.

Tessa looks like she is afraid of Carlee but she really is unsure about the camera.

Last night we had new tires put on the van, both cars in two weeks-ouch, but when we came home and went to get the kids out of the back seat we found them all passed out, nice! Of course Porter had his hand in the car seat and Tessa was holding it. He loves her so much and I know she does too. She is always smiling at Porter and watching him more than anyone. So cute!

I had to add these next pictures because Tessa is now wearing the same hat that Carlee used to wear. What do you think, do they look alike?

Real or Fake, that is the question....

So, this morning Andy and I were looking at his schedule discussing when we would be going to get our Christmas tree. We usually go the day after Thanksgiving but his schedule is crazy, so who knows. This conversation led to one about always having a real tree and how it smells so good and how it is so fun to go and cut it down ourselves. I have heard horror stories about real trees, bringing home squirrels (maybe that was just the Christmas Vacation movie, which I love), spider nests, sap, and so on. But to me it's worth the risk, it's just all a part of the season. So what do you all think? I know that there are people out there who have fake trees and go fake for their own reasons and I am just curious what they are. There is something a little funny to me, that just made me have a little giggle to myself, about going to the attic to get the Christmas tree, I can see it now. It also brings back memories about my Grandma Ruth's house, I loved when she got her fake tree out of the attic, it was so fun, and in it's own way it smelled good too. But, I just need a little more anticipation than that and I am so grateful to Andy and his love for the real thing and the tradition that we have created together.

Let's go Utes!!

I just wanted to give a shout out to the Utah Utes. Today is the big rival game between them and BYU. Every year it is a battle and very exciting. I love the people who watch the game even though they never watch football and don't keep up with either team (you know who I am talking about). It is so much fun! I love to hear the kids yell "GO UTES" thanks to their dad's brainwashing. It also brings back great memories of last years game and the people that we were with. I asked Andy if there was anything that he wanted to say about the game and he is just sad that he has to work, I am sad about that too. I wish both teams the best of luck, may the best man win.

Losing Our Marbles

A toy that I absolutley have to share with everyone is a marble run!! Porter got the marble run from Santa last year when he was 3 turning 4 and loved it. Actually we loved it so much we went and bought another one a few months later.

5 things we love about the marble run:

1. Anyone can put it together

2. It is easy to clean up

3. It was fairly cheap

4. It has given us hours of fun

5. It's just awesome, who doesn't want a marble run!?!?

Porter and Carlee have played with the marble run so much. It is a toy they are able to play with by themselves. It is so fun when Andy builds with them, he does some crazy stuff, I just stick to the instructions and even then it is a little scarey and the kids get tired of waiting for me to finish, yeah, building anything is not for me.Right now at Costco they are selling a marble run that is awesome and totally cheap,it is a touch more advanced than the one we have, but it is still great. I have seen this exact marble run at other stores going for about 55-60 dollars! Crazy, I love Costco and our marble run.

The bridges of Ashtabula county....

Saturday we ventured off to Ashtabula County where they are known for their amazing and old covered bridges. We had no idea really where we were headed so the first thing we did was go to the visitor center that happened to be closed. The only thing we found there was a giant zucchini, which did nothing for us but provide a great photo-op for Andy.

Get your head's out of the gutter, it's just a zucchini.

It is amazing how something so old can be so beautiful.
The kids were so good even though they were in the car the entire day. We made a stop at a place called Covered Bridge Pizza which was really good and a lot of fun.
Porter holding his Tessa May, he loves her so much.

Grandma bought the kids each one of those giant gumball that barely fit into your mouth, as you can see.

Grandma Kay Lee in front of my favorite bridge on the "tour".

Andy trying out his photo skills, I don't know why but I love this picture of him.

We did not get any pictures of everyone together because the kids basically slept the whole time, it's okay, I love to take pictures of Andy and I, it means I get to hug him more!

Porter's Special Day!

At Porter's pre-school all of the kids have a special day, and no, it is not their birthday, and they get to bring two special adults. The school let Porter have his when Kay Lee was here so that her and Andy could go. Porter loves going to school, it so so funny to see how different he is when he is there. He is so shy and will hardly talk, it's like he is a completley different kid. Porter says his favorite thing at school is the sand and water table.

Random Pictures

Well, Andy's mom has left today and we are so sad. It was very fun to have her here, we all loved spending time with her and we did a lot of fun things. Here are a few random pictures that I thought were so cute and I had to post them.

I love this body shot of Tessa trying to roll over. I have a three and ahlf month old that looks like a nine month old.

Tessa trying to eat her hand while haning out on the boppy (I love that thing, thanks Stacie!)

Kay Lee and Carlee playing in the leaves that Kay Lee raked for Andy. Here in OH you just rake to the curb and then a huge truck with a giant sucker tube comes and sucks them up!

Yes, Carlee fell asleep on the computer chair while her and Porter were playing Playhouse Disney.

A visitor from the past....

I don't know why, but I feel so compelled to write about the visitor that we had last night.

I am sure that many people know about how Andy and I met, but for those who don't, here is a story for you. Just over eight years ago I met a guy named Jeremy at a bar-b-que. We went out a couple of times but nothing ever came of it. About one year later I literally bumped into the same Jeremy at a Blockbuster in Centerville, Utah. We were talking and making some small talk when Bush walked around the corner. Andy pretty much stopped in his tracks when he saw me, you could tell he was surprised to see me. Andy walked away thinking that I was just another one of Jer's girls and returned a few minutes later just as my friend Sunni and I were telling Jeremy that we would be going to Grey's River to go camping and do a little fishing for the weekend. You should have seen the look on Andy's face, he lit up. Then Andy and I started talking about fishing, dogs, and outdoor stuff that we liked. It was a fun and exciting conversation. I left the Blockbuster that day excited and curious as to what was going to happen.

That night Jer and Andy called and asked if Sunni and I would go and hang out. We went over to Jer's house to play pool. That is really how it all started. I started dating Jeremy, but Andy was always there, whether on the group date with us or just in my mind. This continued on for a few months.
I will always remember the night that I was asked the question that would change my future forever. Sunni and I went over to Jer's house to watch a movie, of course Andy was there. Those boys were two peas in a pod, the best of friends that I have ever seen. Jeremy ended up falling asleep during the movie, and when it ended I decided to just go instead of waking him up, and also offered Andy a ride home, which was conveniently on my way home. During that car ride Sunni and Andy were talking to me about my relationship with Jeremy. Why we were dating, if we were "together" or not, hand holding (Jeremy had weird rules, one of which was about hand holding), things like that. Then I was asked of Jeremy was someone that I would marry. I didn't know the answer to that and it got me thinking. Sunni followed up with "why would you date someone you couldn't marry?" Very good question if you ask me.

My mind was racing, thinking all sorts of things about dating, marriage, kissing, hand holding, feet, but most of all Andy. If I were to end things with Jer, it would be ending things with Andy too. I had tears in my eyes, and at that moment I knew that I loved Andy.

The next few days were some of the craziest days of my life. Jeremy and I both agreed that we were going nowhere. I remember feeling sad when he pulled out of the Sawatzki driveway, I was going to miss him, but it still felt right. Sunday morning I called Andy before church and told him that Jeremy and I would not be dating anymore and that I was going to miss him. I told Andy that if he ever wanted to hang out to call me. This is probably the most daring thing I have ever done in my life, it was so straight forward. What did I have to lose? Andy called me later that night and we have been together ever since.

Anyway, last night Jeremy came and stayed the night with us, he had an interview for residency at the Cleveland clinic and Andy offered him a bed here because we are so close to downtown Cleveland. Having Jeremy here really got me thinking about how meeting him truly changed my life.

To Jer: I am sorry again if I ever hurt your feelings. Thank you for introducing me to my husband. I know now after seeing you and Andy together last night that you will always be his best friend. Thank you for coming and staying at our house and playing swords, the kids will forever love you for that, and I hope we see you and your family again soon.

To Andy: Thank you for following your heart and for loving me and for giving us a chance, even though it meant a little awkwardness with you and your best friend. Also, you need to be better and keeping in touch with all of your friends, call or e-mail when you think of them, that is what you would tell me. I love you.

These are two of my favorite picstures of Andy and Jeremy at our wedding 2001 and at the airport when Andy was leaving for his mission to Mongolia.

Kirtland, Ohio....

Saturday morning we got up early and made our way to Kirtland, Ohio where there are a few church hisory sites. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have had to visit the church history sites living here in the east. It really is amazing to walk in places that a prophet walked and to sit in rooms that the Savior appeared.

Andy and I in front of the Kirtland temple.

Most of the leaves have fallen of of the trees, but every now and then you could spot somthing amazing and bright.

Carlee loving on Tessa on the tour.

Kay Lee taking her turn holding "chubbo".
Porter and Carlee looking at the old checkers board, they wanted to touch it so badly.

Andy walking with the kids trying to keep them excited about the tour.

A scene I thought I would only find in a movie.
The room where Jospeh Smith recieved revelation on D&C 76.

It was such a fun and crazy day!! We drove all over the place and even got lost a few times, but we still had so much fun being together and seeing things that are a part of the history which make us who we are today.

It's always fun when Grandma is in town....

Kay Lee has been here since Wednesday and we have been having so much fun and doing so many things. The kids are in heaven having her here. It is so cute when I see Porter running up to her and he will just squeeze her leg as hard as he can. The first morning that she was here Kay Lee woke up to Porter holding his measuring tape and he told her that 10 days was not long enough, and he knew that because he looked at his measuring tape. Our first day with Grandma was so fun. We went to the nature center and made it to one of the planetarium shows. The kids loved showing Kay Lee the skunk and the turtles.

Grandma holding the girls on the couch.

Mommy and Porter, I get to be in more pictures since Kay Lee has been here, I'm not the only one taking pictures.

Kay Lee talking to the kids about the stars.

After the nature center we headed to chick-fil-a for lunch and then did a little shopping. We got a little tired and came home for a little hang out time, but then quickly decided we needed to make it to the park while we still had beautiful weather. Porter and Carlee love the "stick" park that is just down the street from us.

Porter going up the slide instead of down.

Grandma keeping Tessa warm.

Porter showing how messy his hands are, he looks a little like a moose.

Mommy and Tessa.

Carlee loves to play in the sand box, she had a hard time leaving the park.

Porter is amazing on the swings, I cannot believe how well he pumps. He was doing all sorts of tricks on this swing.
