Hot springs on a cold day….

My awesome friend Kayise asked if I wanted to take the kids to Fairmont Hot Springs for the day because they were out of school.  I have wanted to go there since we moved to Helena, but just haven't found the time.  Going this day was perfect because the kids were out of school and I didn't want them to just sit home.  We loaded up and headed out mid morning, making it there just before lunch.  What an awesome place!!  It is a giant indoor pool/hot spring inside of a hotel. They also have a giant slide outside but I wasn't able to go on it because of Marin, but Porter and Carlee said it was great.  The water is so warm there is no need to get out and no ones lips turned purple.  The kids had a ton of fun swimming around and being there with friends.  We stayed there pretty much the whole day and I had to drag the kids out of the pool.  Andy wasn't able to go because he was working and I so wish he could have seen how awesome this place was.  It really is the perfect activity for winter because it is indoors so I think we will plan a family overnighter there next year.

Happy 10th Birthday Porter….

I can't believe Porter is old enough to be 10 and be in the double digits!!  This year is a year for him to have a friend party so I suggested we do a dodgeball party at the church.  Porter loves when the young men and the young women get together to play dodgeball, so I thought it would be the perfect thing for a bunch of boys!  I asked my friend Lauralee to make the invite and of course she came up with this super cute invitation, it was perfect, just like the party!  All of the boys showed up and were just messing around and shooting hoops, so when everyone got there it was game on!  Andy was so great to get things going and be in charge of the boys, they can be so loud at times, I can barely talk over them.  The boys played a few games of dodgeball and then I made them stop so we could eat pizza and have some drinks, they were all red in the face from playing so hard!  After pizza we did cake, ice cream, and presents.  The blowing out of the candles was very entertaining, I got the trick candles and he really did have to keep blowing over and over!  Porter got some pretty sweet gifts, he has some great friends here.  After all of that fun, they wanted to play some more dodgeball.  This time Andy and Reid played too, needless to say, things were pretty intense.  Overall it was a fabulous birthday celebration for my Porter man, there was only minor crying from some of the boys who may have gotten hit in the face a time or two…

I of course have to add how grateful I am to be a boy mom to one son.  Porter does such a great job with 3 sisters and is the best older brother ever.  I love to see Porter grow up and be such a good kid.  He is getting a little too big for all the hugs and snuggles I really want, but every once in a while I am lucky enough to sneak a few.  Love you Porter.
