Marin's first birthday!!!!!

Last minute we decided that for Marin's birthday we would have a little party for her at the pool on the friday before. So that morning I woke up and decided to make the cutest cake I have ever made, I really just went for it. This is what my work station looked like....

Anyway, it was the perfect evening at the pool, clear and warm. We ordered pizza, had watermelon, veggies, grape soda, capri suns, and of course cake. I had gotten Marin a cute tutu swim suit from Old Navy for only $5 the day before, and it was perfect for her first birthday party. Marin had a good time eating, playing in the water, and watching the other kids. She wasn't sure of her cake at first, but as soon as Andy cut it, she dug right in. She was very happy with her presents and did a very good job opening considering she in only one.

Opening her presents. Andy and I finally caved and bought this baby pop-up toy, we have been wanting to for years, but were not doing it because we thought we were done with kids, and since that was not the case, Andy put his foot down and went to Toys R' US.

Marin's actual birthday was on a sunday, the 7th, and it was pretty low key. We went to church, napped, and just hung out. That night we had some friends over for s'mores, actually it was our first fire of the summer, it has just been too hot! Here are some pics of her on her birthday when I busted her on the step stool. The kids are notorious for leaving the stool open.

I just love her little body.

I just cannot believe how quickly the time goes by. I know people always say "it feel like just yesterday..." but it really does feel like yesterday I was just home from the hospital with her holding her 24/7, not letting her go. It feels like just yesterday that she was starting to sit up or started to sleep through the night in the crib. Marin has been such a blessing in our family, I find myself looking at her and thinking about how cute she is, I love her eyes. I am so excited to see her personality come to life here pretty quickly.

Good Bye High Chair....

We did it, we got rid of the high chair and moved Marin to a booster seat. I feel so much better having her sitting at the table with us, not just next to us in the high chair. It was sad to see the h-chair go, we have a lot of memories in that chair, a lot of laughing at our kids take their first bites, and a lot of messes to clean up. But it was time and we just gave it to the lady down the street who does day care, so I still feel close to it, I am just glad that someone else can use it. Marin loves the booster and enjoys the buckle, she will sit and play with that for a long time when she is done eating. Look how happy the peanut is....
