Yesterday Andy finished the Akron Marathon!! 3 hours and 33 minutes to be exact. Out of 1421 finishers he placed 175th, not bad.
I cannot believe that the day has come and gone, it has been talked about since the beginning of the year. Andy and his friend Dave have been planning and training for months and months. I am so proud of Andy for making this kind of commitment and sticking to it. And it was extra special that Andy's Mom and Dad could be there to see him do this. It was so exciting to watch Andy and Dave as they ran by and to cheer them on and to see the man that I love doing it so well and kicking bootie. I think Andy's marathon itch is gone, although he will continue with his original love of Adventure racing. Love ya honey, job very well done!!
After the Marathon we all had a little nap and then went out to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Both place were soooooo cool, I definitely loved the vibe at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame more. We had a great day and were so exhausted by the end, so to top it all off we hit Five Guys Burgers for din din. A perfect end to a busy day.

I'm in....
Today I received my acceptance letter from Cleveland State University. I have always wanted to finish school, but had to put things on hold while Andy finished medical school, and have 3 children. Now we are settled (sort of) for the next three years and I think it is time. I applied about a month ago and have been anxiously awaiting and today was the day!! I know it is kind of silly how excited I am but it means a lot to me, and I am proud of myself for saying I was going to do it and actually doing it. I have an interview at the Department of Education on Thursday morning. Wish me luck.

Carlee's first day of school....
This morning Carlee had her first morning of pre-school. I cannot believe that she is big enough to go, it snuck up on me too fast. The morning started out good, I woke up early and got ready right away so that I was ready to tackle anything. I had breakfast ready for when she woke up and as soon as she came down the stairs I was super cheerful and happy (almost a little too much, I was bothering myself), I needed to be sure that Carlee would be okay going. She was a little scared to go by herself, she wanted to go with Porter, so I kept telling her she was so special and this was just for her to play and meet new friends. Carlee also loved that I wanted to take some pictures of her. When I went to pick her up, she asked if I needed anymore pictures, I felt bad that I did not have the camera with me. Anyway, she went and loved it. I am so proud of her. It really is the first thing she has done all on her own. Love you Car Car, good job!!

Malley's and Rain, a Cleveland Summary....
We have had some pretty amazing rain the past few weeks out here. I love it because every storm is like watching a movie, we are so entertained, I can stand at the front window for minutes with jaw open saying "wow, it is raining so hard", and that is usually what happens every time, it's so fun. So the most recent storm motivated Porter to get on his swimsuit, which motivated Carlee to get on hers (what else are you supposed to do when you were planning on going to the pool, only to have rain). It was so fun to watch them run around outside like a couple of crazy's. I love them, they are always making me laugh.
I have written about Malley's before, but I have to mention it again because I just love their fudge, it is amazing. We took Porter there after his first day of school, Andy says it is our new tradition. You don't have to tell me twice.

Having Fun....
We have been having a lot of fun playing with "Glama" (my mom who has been here for the past week) and Molly. Finally the weather was good enough today (warmer and not raining) for us to be outside. It feels like the end of summer which brings new excitement of the upcoming holidays. Thoughts are already brewing of birthdays, Halloween parties, Thanksgiving, and the Christmas (and anyone who really knows me will also know that I have already started buying the kids stuff). It is really crazy to me that I am going in stores and they already have Halloween candy and Christmas decorations out, but somehow it always sneaks up on me.
