Anyway, it was the perfect evening at the pool, clear and warm. We ordered pizza, had watermelon, veggies, grape soda, capri suns, and of course cake. I had gotten Marin a cute tutu swim suit from Old Navy for only $5 the day before, and it was perfect for her first birthday party. Marin had a good time eating, playing in the water, and watching the other kids. She wasn't sure of her cake at first, but as soon as Andy cut it, she dug right in. She was very happy with her presents and did a very good job opening considering she in only one.
Here is the birthday girl in her new swim suit, too cute!!!!
The butterfly cake. I LOVE how it turned out!
I love how they are 3D.
Marin's new thing, so cute.
Not so sure of what is going on here.
What is this??
Finally going for it.
I was so happy that she like the cake.
The gang
Opening her presents. Andy and I finally caved and bought this baby pop-up toy, we have been wanting to for years, but were not doing it because we thought we were done with kids, and since that was not the case, Andy put his foot down and went to Toys R' US.
Marin's actual birthday was on a sunday, the 7th, and it was pretty low key. We went to church, napped, and just hung out. That night we had some friends over for s'mores, actually it was our first fire of the summer, it has just been too hot! Here are some pics of her on her birthday when I busted her on the step stool. The kids are notorious for leaving the stool open.
Busted!!!
I just love her little body.
I just cannot believe how quickly the time goes by. I know people always say "it feel like just yesterday..." but it really does feel like yesterday I was just home from the hospital with her holding her 24/7, not letting her go. It feels like just yesterday that she was starting to sit up or started to sleep through the night in the crib. Marin has been such a blessing in our family, I find myself looking at her and thinking about how cute she is, I love her eyes. I am so excited to see her personality come to life here pretty quickly.
